Every year, lives are lost in the first few minutes of a cardiac arrest. Most of those emergencies happen at home, at work, or in public settings, in front of the people who care most. The difference between tragedy and survival is often simple: someone who knows what to do.
At Medstar, our EMTs and Paramedics teach practical, hands-on CPR and AED training designed for real life. No complicated language. No medical background required. Just clear instruction, realistic practice, and the confidence to step forward when it matters.
CPR keeps blood flowing to the brain and vital organs. An AED can restore a life-saving heart rhythm before EMS arrives. When used quickly, survival rates increase dramatically. CPR and AED use by the public more than triples the change that EMS care will have a positive impact on a patient in cardiac arrest. The person who needs that help may be your spouse, your parent, your child, your coworker, or someone you have never met before.
You don’t need to work in healthcare to make a difference. You just need the willingness to learn.
Medstar offers group and community-based training throughout our service area. We bring experienced EMS professionals directly to civic groups, schools, faith organizations, workplaces, and community centers. Courses are structured, efficient, and focused on skill development so participants leave prepared, not overwhelmed.
If you have ever thought, “I hope someone would know what to do,” this is your opportunity to be that someone.
Learn CPR. Learn how to use an AED. Be ready.
