Medstar donates an AED to Faith United Methodist Church
Medstar CEO, Kolby Miller, presents an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) to Faith United Methodist Church Board Member, Jacomb Schroeder and Macomb Township Supervisor, Frank Viviano.
Faith United Methodist Church applied for, and was awarded, an AED through the Medstar Shock and Save Initiative. The Initiative provides mini-grants for schools, churches, non-profit and civic organizations in Medstar’s service area.
Jacob Schroeder was excited to be able to have an AED in the church, which is home to over one hundred parishioners. “Having the AED in our church and the CPR training will provide some peace of mind for the congregation”.
Macomb Township Supervisor, Frank Viviano, attended the presentation. He appreciates the relationship between the township and Medstar and the importance of pre-hospital treatment. He encourages organizations to take advantage of this life-saving grant program.
“Medstar recognizes community AED placement as the most important component of increasing cardiac arrest survival throughout our fourteen-county service area,” said Kolby Miller, Medstar CEO. “We’re incredibly thankful for our healthcare and community partners for helping us expand this vital initiative. The more AEDs we can get into the community, the more lives will be saved.”
