We’re proud to announce that Medstar CEO, Kolby Miller, has been elected as a Region III Director of the American Ambulance Association (AAA). In this role, Kolby will represent and advocate for EMS providers and agencies across the Midwest.
Kolby brings more than 35 years of EMS experience, including over 20 years leading Medstar, to the new role. Kolby has led the growth of our organization, focusing on improving patient care while expanding and enhancing the careers of EMS providers. He is an advocate for safe, patient-centered EMS care, and expanded patient and provider safety systems.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve the patients, communities, and facilities that entrust their care to Medstar, as well as the incredible women and men who provide the care and service every day,” Miller said of the selection. “I look forward to working with other AAA board members in continuing to advocate for EMS personnel throughout the region and the country.”
Throughout his career, Kolby has been a voice for Michigan’s EMS professionals and agencies. He has served two terms as President of the Michigan Association of Ambulance Services (MAAS,) currently represents MAAS on the Michigan Emergency Medical Services Steering Committee, where he serves as Chair of the Safety Committee, and serves as a survey team leader with the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS.) Locally, Kolby has been involved in establishing community CPR and AED programs, as well as an initiative to equip EMS providers with whole blood for shock patients.
We look forward to his representation in the national efforts to improve and enhance the delivery of emergency, critical care, and interfacility medical services.
